Multimedia Platform for Freelance Textile Designers and Companies

 

 

The aim of this phase of the project was to evaluate the current practice and interactions between freelance textile designers and the industry they serve. As an educational establishment sending graduates into this market place we felt it was important to take stock and gauge the relevance of our understanding of the procedures, services, products and demands of this sector. The impact of the new technology has implications for the future training of designers both in design and business practice. It was clear that to assess the feedback of the industry and the variations between the different design disciplines in their use of the new technology would be an exercise of use to all parties. This information could help us to expand the design potential and communications skills of the designer - providing the client with a fast, professional and relevant response to their needs.
